Common name: Japanese blood grass

With its late season show this makes a glowing, deciduous grass. It has green grassy foliage, and has crimson autumn colouration.

It likes sun, part shade or light shade, moist and well drained soil and is happy in acid (ericaceous), alkaline or neutral soil. It is frost hardy.
